When you’re in a relationship, you fall in love with someone. There’s a modern tradition of carrying a woman being across the threshold by her new husband to bless the new marriage. She might be a little bit heavier than the guy, but when you’re in love, you do crazy things. Even lift the love of your life. God is the same way, He lifts us up, why? Because His love is unconditional.
Being in a relationship requires commitment and an investment. But you cannot have a relationship without giving your 110 percent.
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
I’ve been learning a lot of having a committed relationship with God. I asked myself, what does it take to have a relationship? Jesus commanded we first love God with all of our heart and soul, before others. That means I must be willing to give my 110 percent of myself to God. Not just tithe the ten percent of what I have.
Jesus proved his love when he died on the cross so we could have grace and be able to experience his unconditional love.
